History of Block Panchayat
The N. E. S. Block system was formed in India in 1952 as an implementing agency for rural development activities. In 1955, the Taliparamba Block was formed in Malabar, which was a part of the then Madras State. The Taliparamba Block consisted of 23 revenue villages. The objective of the blocks was to help people from all walks of life to reach the top socially, culturally and economically. Many special programmes have been implemented under the Taliparamba Block. All the centrally developed schemes implemented in Kerala were first implemented in this block. The Children and Mothers' Scheme started in 1962, the Social Gardens, and the Manpower Project started in 1964 were important. The I. R. D. P.
